This was the first day of 3 in Guilin, and it definitely set the tone. We loved the cruise, our tour guide who was both hilarious and knowledgeable, and the visit to Yangshuo. Even the bus rides had great views. You will stand in awe the entire day. This day alone made us fall in love with Guilin. Seeing the exact view that’s on the 20 Yuan was surreal. I couldn’t say enough about this trip. If you get a chance to take a country tour while in Yangshuo, I recommend it.

It could not have been a better experience. We had Michael as our guide, he was patient and kind and had a good sense of humour. They were always on time and thorough. In fact so much info we couldn’t remember all of it. We felt comfortable and extremely satisfied with how we got exactly what we had signed up for. We would highly recommend Viator!!!

Perfect organisation – I was very lucky because I was the only person that had booked this tour for that day so I got the VIP treatment. Nice car, driver (David) and guide (Sheryl) all to myself. Sheryl was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. She gave me the time I needed on all the sites. I never felt rushed which is often the case in these types of tours. Unfortunately it was very cold especially for the visit to the Summer Palace. I would like to see that one again when the gardens are green. Lunch was good but much too early for me (11 am) so I could not really eat much. The tour ends quite early in the afternoon which left me enough time to also go and visit the Temple of Heaven which is something I suggest they could add to this tour so that people with limited time can cover the main sights in 2 days. For my second day I booked “Great Wall, Forbidden City and Tiananmen square”

An amazing tour. Lei my guide was great. I met with him in the morning and went through the places I wanted to visit. The night before he recommended getting a car/driver for the day to cover as much ground as possible and I laughed when he showed up the next day with my own mini bus and driver. But what a great idea…it meant I actually managed to cover 2 other main sites I wouldn’t have had change to get too otherwise. Lei was a very patient guide, great command of English and answered every questions I had with enthusiasm (and I’m sure he must have been asked the same things time and time again). Lei had studied history so it was great to have someone with such extensive knowledge.
