Board a fully equipped 23 metre 3 level Escort boat. A light breakfast is served as we depart Koh Samui. Arrive Ang Thong National Marine Park and commence the first kayak trip travelling along the coastline of Koh Mae Koh. After a drive up the mountain’s winding road, the final climb to the site is via an enormous mythological Nagas (Dragon-headed serpent) staircase of 306 steps. On a clear day, there are incomparable views over the city of Chiang Mai from the temple grounds.

Wat Chedi Luang consists of an impressive chedi, originally built in 1411. It reached a height of over 278 feet before it was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. It now reaches a height of 196 feet. The temple also contains the city pillar. Statue in small shelters surrounding this building are the home of guardian spirits.

Just a wonderful experience for our family of four. Prompt pick-up at our hotel. Our guide spoke excellent English and had a sense of humour, very experienced and knew the elephants well. He made sure that we got front row seats for everything. The lunch was great overlooking the river. The whole tour was also timed paced really well so we had enough time to finish each step yet never wasted any time. Riding the elephants through the jungle was just a fantastic experience we will never forget. It was so beautiful and peaceful, totally relaxing. At first I was a bit disappointed that the elephant guy couldn’t speak any English to chat with me. But as we went, I realized what a blessing it was to be able to not talk and just thoroughly enjoy nature. Our kids 5 & 7 were originally nervous about the idea of sitting on an elephant, but they now tell me that this was the best part of our whole holiday, even beating playing on the beach. Rafting down Ping River on the bamboo raft was also an awesome experience. Pretty much anywhere you visit in Thailand; you can find some kind of elephant trekking tour somewhere. But we felt like none of them could have compared to the one we went on. The location was ideal, the elephants well trained, the mahouts so experienced, and the scenery just beautiful.

The drive to the show was sluggish at first due to the evening traffic, but once we got rolling we were there with about 15-20 minutes to spare. The show was sooo worth it. Even though they were lip synching, the performers of this show were mostly spectacular. Costumes, lighting effects, showmanship – all were excellent, including the gracious meet-and-greet at the end. I highly recommend it. Men, women, couldn’t always tell, and it didn’t matter anyway…

Your guided evening tour begins along Ratchawong Pier on the Chao Praya River. Step back in time to the old markets in Yaowarat, located in the heart of the vibrant Chinatown district.
