SUNSET FISHING

Kuda Bandos is a small beautiful island around 20 minutes boat ride from Full Moon. There are no hotels or shops to spoil the tranquility of this tropical paradise. Laze away the hours on the pristine white beach or view the magical underwater world as you snorkel the natural reef. Kuda Bandos snorkelling offers a memorable experience for beginners and experienced snorkellers alike. The water gets gradually deeper, so it is perfect for less confident swimmers. REEF SNORKELLING
Banana Reef is famous for it’s myriad of colourful tropical fish and pretty corals.     Sail off on a decorated dhoni to the secret dive site, the bride in a white dress and the groom in black trousers and white shirt or even in your wetsuit. The Dive Leader is the Master of Ceremony and will guide the couple to the underwater location where a sea full of corals and colorful fish waiting are witnesses. The symbolic exchange of vows – tick the “yes” box – and a traditional kiss – add bubbles – can be filmed, for a private video of the event.
    After the couple ascends back to the surface and board, canapés and champagne are prepared and the traditional ‘cutting the cake’ will take place. Following the journey back to the resort, the couple proceeds to their decorated room.

  • Eternity Renewal of Vows

    The bride arrives by speedboat, dressed in a traditional sarong. Her groom walks down the jetty dressed in black Bermudas and a white shirt or traditional sarong.
    The Master of Ceremony is a Guest Service Team member. After a short, beautiful ceremony the life long vow will be given. Champagne and canapés honor the traditional ritual of ‘cutting the cake’.
    The bride and groom is next escorted to the area assigned for the tree planting ceremony and join hands to plant a coconut palm, to seal their everlasting love. The couple then sets off on a sunset sailing, their first voyage after the renewal of their vows.

    The couple proceeds along the beach with delicate flower petals to their beautifully decorated accommodation.

    A candle lit dinner served under the stars, another highlight of the evening. Afterwards, a special turndown service that is accompanied by a framed ‘wedding certificate’ surprises the happy couple.

    WAAGIRI: INNER REEF

    Current: Small

    A sheltered reef, home to many interesting small marine creatures and soft coral including nudibranch, shrimp, scorpion fish, and Fire and Arrow goby. A large frogfish sometimes resides here. There is a every opportunity of seeing the Longnosed Hawkfish which inhabits the small black coral trees at around 20 to 25m; here you can also see hundreds of very long garden eels feeding in the gentle current.

    KUDAGIRI: INNER REEF WRECK DIVE

    A steel coastal trader located in 20 to 35m of water is home to many small fish. A large school of batfish can be seen on or near the wreck making for excellent photos. At certain times of year the wreck’s bridge is filled with Yellow sweeper, with Blue fin Trevally circling nearby, waiting for an easy meal. After viewing the wreck, take a leisurely swim around the reef observing Clark and Maldivian anemone fish and Fairy basslets. The numerous caves and overhangs are filled with Soldier fish and occasionally large grouper.

    GURAIDHOO: OUTER REEF AND CHANNEL

    Current: Small to very strong

    Starting the dive along the outer reef provides a spectacle of fusiliers and dog-toothed tuna. As you drift towards the corner a large school of Schooling Banner fish feed in the current. You will stop on or near the corner holding
    onto the bottom to watch the action of frequently seen White Tip sharks, Grey sharks, Spotted Eagle rays, Giant Trevally and large Napoleon cruising in the current. From May to November and with the right conditions, Hammerhead sharks can be seen, making for a memorable dive.

    COCOA THILA: THILA DIVE

    Current: Medium
    Camera: Wide angle (not recommended due to nature of drift dive)

    Located in the middle of Kandooma channel, we enter and descend down into the blue letting the current drift us on to the reef, where huge schools of Fusiliers, Red Snapper and Big Eye Trevally congregate on the thila corner. Large Tuna and Giant Trevally ride the currents with frequent sightings of up to 10 to 20 Spotted Eagle rays. On top of the reef, see beautiful table corals, reef fish, and big green turtles. Drifting towards the end of the thila, find Grey sharks and White Tip sharks – common sightings, although very shy.

    COCOA CORNER: OUTER REEF AND CHANNEL

    Drifting along the outer reef you can see many Fusiliers and Turtles with sometimes White Tip sharks and Spotted Eagle rays near the corner of the channel. As you come into the channel small overhangs with beautiful soft
    and hard coral, sea fans and sponges adorn the reef wall providing a kaleidoscope of colours . Many Groupers, Sweetlips and Soldier Fish can be seen inhabiting the caves, including occasional Honeycombed Moray along the reef.

    BODUHORA: INNER REEF

    Bodu means big and Hora means sand bank in dhivehi ; in other words, a big sand bank with many patch reefs makes for a variety of marine life, especially juveniles. You can see large schools of Blue Striped Snapper, Turtles, Blue Surgeon fish, Damselfish, Flatfish, Nudibranch, Shrimp, Lionfish, Black Spotted Pufferfish, Garden Eels and some big Morays. Lots to see, and a relaxing dive.

    BACK KANDOOMA: ALONG THE OUTER REEF

    This leisurely dive incorporates numerous schools of fish located on the edge of the drop off. You can see Blue Striped Snapper, Two Spot Snapper, and Fairy Basslets, with Black Pyramid Butterflyfish and numerous turtles, which can be approached closely. Often Skipjack Tuna, Trevally and Napoleon can be seen along the drop off. A relaxing dive for all levels of divers.

    BUSHI OUT: OUTER REEF

    A variety of fish and small marine creatures inhabit the coral outcrops, including three or four species of Fusiliers, the Yellow Backed, Blue Striped, Two Spot and Midnight Snapper, Napoleon, Convict Surgeon Fish, Turtles, Morays and sometimes Lobster. As you near the channel, encounter Trevally , Skipjack Tuna and White Tip sharks. A good dive for the fish follower, or just relax and enjoy the scenery.

    Kandooma- Maldives – “Celebrate life, Love life, Live life”

    Welcome to Kandooma Island

    Kandooma Island lies just 35 km south of the Male International Airport, via a forty minute speedboat ride to the South Male Atoll. 13 hectares in area, It is named after the Kandoo tree which is found in abundance on the island. For guests arriving late at night, the resort also offers the convenience of night transfers to the island.

    This tropical paradise isle is favoured because of its close proximity to many excellent dive sites. The Kandooma Channel and Kandooma Caves and Kandooma “thila” (an undersea mount) all contribute to making this area one of the republics’s most sought after destinations for scuba divers.

    List of nearby dive sites

    For the non-divers, the surrounding clear water offers areas to swim and snorkel. Enthusiastic surfers will be delighted with the reef breaks on the north shore – the east side of the island forms the swell that comes in off the ocean.

    Kandooma – The Resort

    Kandooma Island is 13 hectares in area (32 acres) or roughly about a 20 minute walk around the perimeter. It is located two thirds down the south eastern edge of the south male atoll and is neighbours to resort islands Cocoa in the north, Biyado in the west and local island Guraidhoo in the south. For a sampling of Maldivian life a visits to Guraidhoo can be arranged.

    The resort has 160 villas in four main categories of beach and garden villas, Duplex villas, family villas and water villas. With the exception of the garden villas, all the accommodation has been built around the edge of or on the water. Each villa type has been designed with cool clean lines with white washed timber providing warm texture to the unshod foot. Large picture windows mean that you are only a glance away from the great blue outdoors.

    The connected I-pod generation need not fret as the island is completely covered with wi-fi broad band. Didn’t bring your pod? No worries, the islands resident dj’s have about 40 of the things for loan that will be programmed with the kind of play lists you tell them you like.

    Did we mention DJ’s? Yes, and they are not just employed to programme I-pods, their day job is to run Radio Kandooma. They’ll be bringing you the news, views on the days weather, activities, birthdays and requests.

    Serving “Med-Asian” cuisine Restaurants and bars at Kandooma will offer a fresh new approach to resort dining as it seeks to provide choice in menu, service, environment and price.

    Guests coming home will be able to tell tales of margaritas in the lounge, villa side barbeques, wood-fired pizzas by the pool, sunset garnished Mojitos on koimala roof bar, take out fish and chips, Kandooma café buffet, castaway picnics, cappuccino’s at the coffee club and sitting at the kitchen range at Koimala restaurant offering advice to the chefs.

    “It’s all about the fish!” as one diver was heard to say. For some, diving will be the only reason they are staying at Kandooma. It is after all located in a prime area. The resort will run dive dhonis to nearby dive sites and speed boats to increase the range of dive destinations. For others it could be to fulfill a lifelong ambition to qualify as a PADI certified diver.

    Many will delight in the many other water activities that the resort has worked to develop. These will include snorkeling excursions, light craft sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, kite surfing or even just regular surfing on the close reef break.

    It does not stop when you get out of the water. The resort has delighted in developing activities from the traditional volleyball, petanque and five a side foot ball to the slightly off the wall, extreme croquet, bicycle polo and underwater hockey (a legitimate sport with a small but determined following developed by Britain‘s royal navy to develop fitness in their divers).

    There are activities to even get you doing things after dinner so you might find yourself guided around the clear night sky by our resident star expert from the koimala roof bar or gaze at a different kind of star like Audrey Hepburn or Humphrey Bogart from the nightly screened black and white classics on the beach.

    Once all that is done and all you want is a bit of private space and to ask your muscles for forgiveness, the resort offers the services of an extensive spa with private villas, several treatment rooms and water [aqua] treatment facilities too.

    Accommodation

    Beach Villas – Size: 36 sq m

    Like all Kandooma’s accommodation, the semi-detached beach villas come with large picture windows that positively invite the outdoors inside. Whitewashed floor boards evoke a sense of fresh coolness, yet feel warm and textured to bare feet. Luxury comes from light summer duvets and generously proportioned bath towels. Flat screen televisions, a place to plug in your mp3/iPod, indoor out-door showers and wifi broadband are all standard, in addition to all the other usual amenities you would expect of a world class lifestyle resort.

    Duplex Villas – Size: 72 sq m

    The sea-facing duplex villas offer the luxury of space. Located at the water’s edge, the villas present a striking mix of natural elements and modern design. Bedrooms located at the first floor level and so enjoy views of the sea. The living area underneath the bedroom is furnished with designer seating laid out on a carpet of fine white sand.

    Family villas – Size: 144 sq m

    Ideal for families or a small group of divers, these are the size of two duplex villas together. They offer sleeping space upstairs as well as living and dining below.

    Water Villas -Size: 85 sq m

    Water villas offer the ultimate in the Kandooma Maldives experience. Hovering above coral and marine life in the shallow clear waters, guests will enjoy their time on their private sundeck, dangling their feet in the water or at high tide, relaxing in a partially submerged hammock. Expansive living space is complemented by a large open bathroom which offers an outdoor shower and bathtub and views of the water.

    Dining

    The focus at the restaurants and bars of Kandooma has been to get the basics right and improve on things from there. The resort claims to make the eating and drinking experience straightforward and unfussy, offering quality through integrity of ingredients. They all say that right? Read on.. Orange juice in the morning will always be just-squeezed, coffee (even in the rooms), will be freshly ground, tea is loose leaf, bread and ice cream will be home made.     Breakfast (6.30am to 10.30pm)

    Greet the day in the “Big Barnacle”! Wide archways let in the sunshine and atoll views. Also views, news, weather and music provided by the “bananas in the morning” breakfast show on Radio Kandooma Breeze. Fresh Juice, pressed coffee, an international selection of breakfasts and attendant chefs ready to receive instructions on just how easy you would like your eggs over.

    Dinner (6.00 pm to 11.00 pm)
    The Bright and Breezy big barnacle becomes a warm cave of soft glowing light presenting an intimate mood under the stars visible through the skylight 60 feet above. Chill out sounds of Radio Kandooma Bleu add to this almost surrealistic romantic environment. A banquet of travel inspired Mediterranean dishes spiced with flavours of Asia is supplemented by chefs busily working tandoor ovens, teppan grills and rottiseurs.

    Poolside

    Lunch (10.00am to 11.00pm)
    Relax! It’s too hot to do anything else, except perhaps to decide what to order next from a menu of fresh salads, sandwiches, wood-fired pizza or pick up a choice cut of eye fillet or lamb loin to be grilled by yourself under the shade of a coconut grove, pausing briefly for a sip of cold drink of your choice, chatting to fellow sun loungers. Then it’s back to the shade of the umbrella from where the searing blue of the atoll can best be appreciated.

    The Kitchen

    Some hotels take diners into the kitchen to sit at “the chefs table”. At Kandooma Island Resort they brought the kitchen out and put it in the middle of the restaurant to create an exquisitely elegant dining experience with the best view on the island. Diners can choose to sit in elegant comfort looking out over Kandooma channel, out on the beach, feet in the sand, or engage the chefs in conversation by reserving a seat at one of the two main kitchen counter ranges. About 15 paces away is the wine room where a choice of some 250 wines will see that some indecision will be encountered in selecting a preferred label.

    The Deck

    For a slightly bohemian end to the day walk past the wine room (resist the urge to have a quick browse, you’ll miss the sunset) and up the circular stairs to The Deck. An expanse of Teak planking covering rooftop of The Kitchen liberally sprinkled with low tables, startlingly blue cushions, bean bags and monolithic granite planters of greenery. Having freshly showered off a day of sunshine and saltwater, it is the ideal place to worship a sunset and the excellent Mojitos of the resident cocktail mixologist. After sundown the area is lit entirely by Moroccan lanterns and the stars. Ideal to continue with cocktails and graze at the tapas menu, savouring a thought for what’s to come…

    Bokkuraa Coffee Club

    Boutique coffees and teas are available to go or right there laced with cyan vistas of pool, sea and sky and the clean contemporary lines of the outlet itself. All fortified by daily changing pastries and homemade ice creams by the coupe or cone.

    When back from a hectic four – dive day, the only thing you might want to do is flop on the lounger and get a pizza in the comfort of your Kandooma home. Muster up enough energy to drag out the compendium and look up what is available. You have a choice of ordering from a list of simple but utterly tempting bites. You will have a choice of picking it up at the agreed time or having it delivered for a one off price. Plates and cutlery are all in your room. The Resort uses where ever possible reusable containers but where disposable is unavoidable, biodegradable food containers are present. Three different menu styles serve three different times from breakfast, all day and night owl. All depends on which end of the day you live in.

    Being lively and engaged is central to the resorts reason for existing, so when it comes to dedicating a department for activity the local experts were always going to do some things a little differently. While diving largely takes centre stage, being almost a dog-paddle to some of the country’s best dive sites, the instructors have developed experiences to tickle any taste. It might be pursuing an adrenaline surge on a surfboard, a mind enriching aqua safari or a reflective moment at a moonlit campfire drinking tea with a Maldivian story teller.

    Snorkeling offers a highly portable and simple way of getting to know the marine life.     Kandooma Thila Thila shaped like a teardrop between 16 and 30m deep. About 250m long – one of the most spectacular dives of this atoll, for scenery as well as prolific fish life. West and north coast are covered with soft corals and schools of red bass or even big-eye trevallies. Top reef is about 20m. There are some outcrops and overhangs where the soft coral outgrowth is very good, but the nicest feature there is the nearly sure meeting with grey sharks, white tip sharks and eagle rays that should be found on the north east of the reef, along with tuna and barracuda. To finish in style on the top reef where the hard coral is still intact, green turtles and maybe a school of batfish might accompany. 5 minutes

    Kandooma Corner Caves and overhangs. Plateau with white-tip sharks among other marine life. 5 minutes

    Kandooma Caves These huge caverns are among the largest and the nicest of all the Maldives’ tourists’ atolls. Two big caves close to one another are just 50m from the corner, one at 20m, the other one at 16m, and the latest one is 70m long and has a curly overhang. Inside the pass, there is a cave at about 10m with a hole going all the way to the top reef at 5m. Inside the caves, we will see yellow sponges, seafans, blue soft coral, small tube corals and often giant morays, as well as squirrelfish, and many groupers. Along the reef we should see clown triggerfish, napoleon, sweetlips, and angelfish, and this is a great site to spot many turtles, especially green turtles. 5 minutes

    Manta Point Only during South-West monsoon. Small block of corals at 16m depth with plenty of small critters. In season, it is a “cleaning station” for manta rays. 10 minutes

    Waagiri Sheltered reef home to many interesting small marine creatures and soft corals. 10 minutes

    Cocoa Corner Reef located on the north side of the Kandooma channel. The wall of the channel is steep and we can find many caves and overhangs, whereas the outside reef slopes more gently. Inside the channel 200m from the corner, is a large outcrop of reef 20m long at the depth of 30m. The outside corner offers a great diversity of fish life. School of sweetlips, snappers, fusiliers, many groupers are very often seen. We can even spot on the corner at 30m some white tips reef sharks, eagle rays, grey reef sharks. There is also a great quantity of colourful soft coral after the corner in-between 10 and 20m. Some beautiful caves and overhangs at the end of the dive with an in-going current or at the start with an out-going. 10 minutes

    Guraidhoo (Protected Marine Area) South side of the channel of Guraidhoo (Local Island). The reef slopes from 6 to 30m on the outside and from the surface to 30m on the inside. It has a very abundant fish life, as well as overhangs and caves. Can be dive with an in going or out going current. The site offers schools of bannerfish, fusiliers, tuna, rainbow runner and more. Under the caves and overhangs we find beautiful seafans, sponges, as well as a lot of groupers. Deeper we should come across grey sharks, white tip sharks, eagle rays, sting rays. A big napoleon seems to have taken place there and often comes to see the divers. If there is small current we could enjoy looking for the small, such as nudibranchs, shrimps, moray eel getting cleaned, turtles are often found on the top reef. You can also meet dolphins in the blue during winter time. 15 minutes

    Losfushi Canyon Little channel on the North side of Guraidhoo channel. This channel has a very shallow, narrow sandy canyon, separating the inside from the outside. The channel deepens inside to a sandy bottom at 30m, and the reef slopes from 6m to 30m on the outside. There is plenty of fish life inside the channel and especially inside the canyon. School of sweetlips, snapper, fusiliers, butterflies are very common. At the entrance of the canyon, with an in going current, white tips reef sharks are very often spotted as well as napoleon. The canyon is the high light due to the quantity and diversity of fish and also to the reflection of the light on the sandy bottom. 15 minutes

    Vaagali Thila A very nice thila starting at 5m depth with a sandy terrace at 30m depth. Plenty of overhangs with many life inside, such as lobsters and honeycomb moray. The rare red anemone can also be easily seen here. West side of the atoll. 40 minutes

    Ranikan The reef is on the west side of Rihiveli. The top reef is between 5 and 10 m, and is dropping slowly to a sand patch at around 30 m. Overhangs can be found in at all depths, but some lovely caves around 12m offer a great variety of coral, white tip shark, turtles, lobster. Whether at 12m, 20m or 30m, Ranikan has abundance and a great diversity of marine life. All kind of tropical fish are there, butterfly, sweetlips, angel or trigger, but we can also see the white tip sharks either in the caves around 12m, or down on the sand at 25m, lobsters and big groupers are hiding in those caves, as well as turtles. Great site to spot torpedo ray or stingrays, leaf fish are not rare there if we look well enough, lionfish are very numerous, and the coral on the overhangs are very delicate. Big Napoleon as well as mantis shrimp or ribbon eels can also be seen. In wintertime, the visibility is great, at least 30m, which makes the relief of this spot and its life unforgettable. In summer, the visibility is affected by plankton, bringing it down to a mere 10m, but it is during this season that we might spot manta rays, or even a whale shark. 50 minutes

    No fuss dining, just good food is the order of the day at Meeru. No dressing up to impress. Just stroll in from the beach or from your room to sit down and enjoy. Vegetarians and people with special dietary needs can also be catered for, but they should let the resort know beforehand.

    Offering a wide choice of snacks, the coffee shop is a relaxed place overlooking the sea next to the swimming pool where light meals can be served while you’re lazing by the water. Room service is also available from the coffee shop up until 11.00 pm. The system offered here is flexible, so if you’re a late riser and miss out on the buffet breakfast, the Hungaanu Coffee Shop offers an a la carte breakfast menu between 9.30 and 11.30. In fact there´s no need to worry about missing any meals as there is a choice of snacks, pizzas, pastas, and more substantial dishes on offer until late at night, as well as a choice of ice creams and fresh fruit. Poolside service is also available.

    Ocean-Pro Dive Centre

    The OCEAN-PRO Dive Team at Meeru welcomes all guests who not only want to enjoy the luxury of the beautiful dive sites around North Male Atoll, but are also looking for something special such as a dive course.

    Allow yourself to glide through the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean discovering the beauty of the aquatic world!

    Meeru offers an interesting variety of courses from novice right through to expert courses that are not available everywhere.
    We are confident that at least one of these will fulfill your dreams!

    The “Draeger Dolphin Rebreathers” allow almost “bubble free/soundless diving”. Therefore, they are very popular with every budding Underwater Photographer and normal noisy scuba divers. As a Rebreather Diver you can look forward to approaching the fish astonishingly close. Even shy underwater creatures accept all Rebreather Divers as members of their world. Less air consumption, smaller tanks and still more time underwater are further benefits of Rebreather Diving. Breathing warm, moist air puts a stop to a dry throat! We offer “Introductory Rebreather Dives”. You need to be certified as a Nitrox Diver (40 %) and should be able to show a minimum of 14 logged dives. Once you are hooked and enjoy Rebreather Diving, this “Introductory Rebreather Diver Course” can count towards the full course, which takes 2-3 days and includes four dives in total. So why not get really close to Mantas, Sharks and Turtles without the disturbing bubbles and take home some very special memories!!

    Beyond that, The centre offer the whole range of PADI courses from Beginner through to Divemaster level, plus a wide variety of Specialty courses too. For our Nitrox Divers we offer Nitrox 32% for free! Also for our non-diving guests we organise guided snorkel trips by boat five times a week.

    With all these underwater activities that we offer you may want to remember this for all time. If so, why not make a photographic diary of your experiences by renting a digital underwater camera.

    You will find a very spacious diving school with all the amenities a diver can ask for. No diver carries their equipment to the diving boat and 6 days no-limit diving without visiting a dive site twice is normal.

    Meeru is surrounded by a big, beautiful lagoon. There is no typical house reef and so all dives are boat dives. The lagoon is home to a great variety of marine life with interesting coral formations and colourful fish life in shallow water. It is perfect for snorkellers and for diver training.

    The three classrooms are fully air conditioned and equipped with TV/DVDs and all PADI course materials are available in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.

    All equipment necessary for diving or snorkeling can be rented at the dive centre. The equipment is checked, serviced and replaced regularly insuring that everything is always up to date. The spacious wet room allows individual storage of both rental and personal diving equipment.

    Meeru covers most of North Male Atoll with more than 50 dive sites which are rated from easy to difficult. They include different reef formations (e.g., Tilas, Giris, Farus), Outside Reefs, Channels and Wrecks. The outside reefs around Meeru are famous for their turtle population and so encounters are literally guaranteed. It is also possible to see Sharks and Manta Rays throughout the year. Thefavorite Manta spots from May to December are “Fairy Tale” and “Lankan Manta Point” and from December to April “Bodu Hithi Thila”. These trips are offered as full day or two tank dive excursions.

    The average water temperature is 28 degrees Celsius and the visibility from January to May is about 20m to 50m and from June to December is 15m to 25m.

    This four star resort called Paradise Island has the local name Lankanfinolhu. Paradise Island, opened in 1994 is located in North Male’ Atoll, which is 9.6km from the Airport. Paradise Island is 1km long and 230 meters wide and has beach all around with an excellent marine life around.

    Paradise Island Resort offers a variety of specialist international cuisine in a range of settings to suit all tastes and add variety to your meals during your stay. While the main restaurant serves a variety of food from different nationalities, meals at the other restaurants would certainly add a special touch of luxury and romance to your holiday. With a range of speciality restaurants you will certainly be spoilt for choice.

    Main Restaurant

    This is where guests on full board, half board and bed & breakfast are served breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tiled floors and full glass windows create a light airy atmosphere. Cushioned rattan furniture provides comfortable seating for 700.

    All meals are served buffet style. Full continental European or English breakfast is available at the breakfast buffet and a wide variety of dishes Continental, Asian and Maldivian dishes are served at lunch and dinner.

    Ristorante al Tramonto and Sunset Bar

    Specialist Italian-set at the end of the main jetty over the edge of the house reef, overlooking the sea; this restaurant certainly provides a romantic setting for any meal. Located on the western side of the island the restaurant is a popular setting for a romantic sunset cocktail as people gather to watch the magnificent sunsets.

    Complete with pizzeria, gelateria, the restaurant serves genuine Italian dishes. The restaurant provides comfortable seating for 48 inside, and 48 more on the surrounding open-air deck outside.

    The restaurant is open from lunch time to late in the evening and provides a pizza room service.

    Fukuya Teppanyaki

    A small decorative bridge over a miniature pool with waterfall leads you to the entrance of this cozy restaurant. Decorated in true Japanese style, the restaurant provides seating for about 20.

    Featuring Japanese traditional teppanyaki – show cooking, the restaurant offers a range of traditional Japanese dishes. In additional to the more familiar Japanese dishes such as sushi and sashimi, a variety of dishes are served. Chefs trained in Japanese cooking uses genuine ingredients, imported from Japan. A meal here is a show in itself. The fact that this restaurant is patronised by the Japanese and South Asian guests at the resort, proves the quality of meals served here.

    The well-stocked bar in the restaurant serves all usual bar drinks and a range of non-alcoholic drinks and exotic alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails.

    The Fukuya Teppanyaki is open for lunch from noon and for dinner in the evening.

    Dhaavani Restaurant – Coffee shop

    This is the place for a light lunch or an afternoon snack in a more informal setting decorated in a casual snack bar style. The restaurant offers seating for about 50. Conveniently located in front of the pool area, the Dhaavani Restaurant and Coffee shop is open round the clock.

    The menu on offer contains a range of light snacks to hearty meals. In addition to the usual fare of salads, sandwiches and burgers and the range of Asian and European dishes featured on the menu. Special theme nights are held on certain days of the week. The Mongolian barbecue and the Tandoori nights are evenings to enjoy. Tandoori dishes may be enjoyed on any day you wish. Lunch at the Dhaavani Restaurant features a daily Tandoori corner.

    This restaurant serves you for your convenience. While the late breakfast included in the menu serves those who prefer to lie in during their holidays, a range of ice creams serves to quench your thirst while sun bathing at the poolside. The restaurant serves the poolside too

    Paradise Bar

    This is the main bar of the resort. The bar is spacious with modern interiors. Open on all sides the bar overlooks the poolside and the sea. The bar provides comfortable, cushioned seating for more than 90.

    A fine atmosphere to relax after a day of diving or discuss the day’s events with newly found friends. Three nights a week live music performed inside the bar or at the poolside provides for some action at the disco inside the bar with its colourful and flashy lighting as it becomes the centre of activity and attraction. Once a week the resorts DJ spins some swinging tunes for you to dance the night away, after the excitement offered by a ‘crab race’. Enjoy a quieter moment or cool down with a cocktail served in the bar- outside by the pool. The bar serves the poolside too.

    Karaoke Bar

    The Karaoke Bar provides a totally different atmosphere in comparison to the Main Bar. The Bar opens every evening and serves all the drinks available in the Main Bar. Step inside through the glass doors into this lavishly furnished bar. The floor is carpeted and black leather sofas provide comfortable seating for 100.

    Beach Bar

    The Beach Bar is conveniently located on the white sandy beach at the northern end of the island. This one is specially for beach babies who spend their day enjoying the variety of watersports offered at the Delphis Water Sports Centre also located at this end of the island. Although the bar is a simple structure, which blends in with the surroundings, spaced out seating, spread out on the beach under thatched parasols provide a convenient setting for a drink. The bar serves soft drinks, beers and fresh fruit drinks and is open till late afternoon.

    Dellphis Diving Centers at Paradise Island

    Since the opening of Paradise Island our partner Delphis Diving Centers takes care here of all the diving. With a perfect safety record, they are able to show you with ease the best diving places in the North Male Atoll. All the Delphis instructors are having years of experience in Maldives and are able to offer you the helping hand exactly when you want or need it. If you are an experienced diver you can benefit from their knowledge of the divesites, so that you will be able to get the most out of each dive.

    Being located close to classic divesites like Blue Caves, HP reef, Banana Reef and Furana Thila, certified divers will have memorable experiences during their holiday. Every season offers something beautiful! In the European wintertime we can enjoy extremely good visibility underwater, which makes diving really feel like flying between the fish. From May to November, Paradise is the perfect location (only a 5 minutes boattrip away) for visiting one of the best manta spots in Maldives. Delphis is daily offering a minimum of at least two boat dives a day to any of the spots in the atoll while two tank dives and full day trips are frequently organised.

    Water Sports

    If you are not a diver yet the lagoon of Paradise is the place to learn it. Delphis organises beginner sessions in small groups, which will ensure you of personal attention and a comfortable way to learn diving. The big team of professional staff is multilingual ( eg at moment of writing 10 languages spoken ) and can all look back on a long teaching experience. Delphis offers all diving courses from easy beginner courses all the way up to diving instructor. Following gives you an impression of the different beginner courses.The Villa Water sports Centre in Paradise Island offers courses in windsurfing and catamaran sailing in addition to excellent facilities for a variety of water sports. The centre, located at the northern end of the island is equipped with the best. The big shallow lagoon surrounding the island is a safe and convenient place to learn windsurfing or catamaran sailing or enjoy any of the water sports offered.

    Water bikes, paddleboats, water scooters are also available for you to paddle around in. Banana Riding, Fun tubes, Knee boarding, Water skiing would certainly give you the opportunity to get some excitement in the water.
